NO SHORTAGE OF LEGO AT BRICK 2015

The organisers of BRICK 2015, a celebration of all things LEGO, have assured visitors there will be no shortage of the popular toy at both it’s Birmingham and London shows after a spokesman for LEGO revealed that it may not make enough plastic bricks to keep up with the demand from Europe’s toy stores.

To guarantee this, BRICK 2015 is working with the UK’s number one retailer of LEGO, Toys “R” Us, to create a bespoke retail store within each event that will be stocked with all the latest releases including the highly popular Star Wars Episode 7 Range, as well as some of the rarer, more hard to find collector sets.

LEGO announced earlier this week that some children may not see their Christmas wishes fulfilled this year, as it’s factories, although running at full capacity, may not be able to keep up with the demand.

“As the No. 1 Retailer of LEGO, we are confident that we will not be short  at Toys “R” Us, we have put huge efforts into planning ahead to ensure that no children or collectors are disappointed this Christmas,” says Andy Brocklehurst, Toy Buying Director for Toys “R” Us UK. “We appreciate the popularity and growth of LEGO in recent years, its a toy that brings families together and has evolved to continually engage new generations while keeping the traditional values that parents grew up with themselves.”

With LEGO leading the way, sales of construction toys have increased from £177.6million in 2009 to £404.3million in 2014, according to researcher Euromonitor.

Over three million LEGO blocks in huge ‘BRICK Pits’ at the BRICK 2015 shows will encourage adults and children of all ages to play and start building their own creation.

There’s also the world’s biggest consumer gaming area for the new LEGO Dimensions video game, a live stage filled with LEGO themed family fun, Guinness World Record attempts, a LEGO Museum and a brilliant range of LEGO gifts and collectibles in BRICK Lane.

BRICKLIVE is the UK’s biggest celebration of LEGO®.
